St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam the world seeking the ruin of souls. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father- send your Holy Spirit to guide our nation. May your Holy Spirit dwell in the hearts and minds of your faithful and all who serve as leaders. Keep us faithful to your law, protect us in our trials, lead us to walk in your word and your love. Through the Virgin Mary, conceived without sin, may we be spared of all destruction and harm from without and within. Mary, Queen of Nations Deliver us. O, Sacred Heart of Jesus Have Mercy on Us. O, Immaculate Heart of Mary Pray for Us. O, Sacred Heart of Jesus Have Mercy on Us. |
Catholic Community Radio Phone: (225)268-2487 www.catholiccommunityradio.com Daily sharing the Good News of salvation with Catholics in the greater Baton Rouge area. “Within the Catholic community itself, there has been a need for Catholics to proclaim the truth, to grow deeper in their faith and to build up the Body of Christ. Catholic Community Radio is an opportunity to truthfully and lovingly proclaim who we are and what we believe as Christ’s pilgrim church on earth and to edify and strengthen the people of God.” — Johnny Hebert
Did You Ever Wonder. . .V Why do Catholics have to go to confession? V What does the word “transubstantiation” mean? V Why should I believe the Gospels? They were written by plain, ordinary men, weren’t they? V Aren’t Catholics Christians and vice versa? V What’s so different about the Catholic Church versus a Protestant church? V How do we know Jesus was the Son of God? V I’m a woman — is there a place in the church for me? V Why is the sacrament of Baptism so important?
V How do the Ten Commandments relate
to my life? If these questions sound familiar, tune in to KKAY 1590 AM from 11AM to 1PM, Monday through Friday and find the answers… ==================================================================================================================== Goals of Catholic Community Radio To discuss the Catholic Church's teachings on religious and social issues. To encourage ex-Catholics to return to the Church through outreach. To defend the Church through education and discourse. To foster unity and spiritual growth within the local Catholic Community. Catholics hunger for knowledge about their faith. Currently, there is no existing Catholic radio station or Catholic radio segment within a station's program in the Baton Rouge area. There are a number of evangelical and other protestant stations in Baton Rouge, but these target specific types of Protestant Christians. People of other faiths often ask Catholics why they follow certain traditions and why they believe in the saints and the Pope. Catholic Radio KKAY-1590 AM is here to provide the answers to theological questions Catholics face in an ever-changing and increasingly violent world. Catholic Radio will be on the air from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The program will consist of a mixture of local, live radio programs and syndicated programs. The first hour covers key moral and social issues from the nationally syndicated live show "Catholic Answers Live." Topics include religious and theological topics in the context of the teachings of the Catholic Church. This show has rapidly become one of the most popular programs across the country. Local radio personality Dave Dawson will provide a live radio show from Noon to 1 P.M. Monday through Friday for the second half of the show. Dave and his wife, Lisa, are leaders of the diocesan ministry for engaged couples as well as numerous other parish ministries.
